We are looking for Business Development Managers for one of the leading distributors of engineering products in the country!
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for improving an organization’s market position and achieve financial growth. This person builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
• Cold call as appropriate within his assigned sector or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
• Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization and turn this into increased business.
• Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
• Plan approaches and pitches. Work with his team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
• Promote company’s products/services addressing or predicting client needs
• Manage existing clients and ensure they stay satisfied and positive
• Develop his staff to valuable sales people
• Works with VP for Business Development, set-up meetings between client decision makers and company leaders/principal;
• Keeps records, sales and revenue, invoices
• Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
• Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team.
• Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
• Work with Corporate Services staff to ensure that prerequisites are fulfilled within a timely manner.
• Ensure all team members represent the company in the best light.
• Provide trustworthy feedback and after sale service
• Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
• Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
• Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
• Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Work with Engineering and Corporate Service to meet customer needs.
  • Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Licensed Electrical Engineer is an advantage. Master’s Degree/MBA is a plus.
  • At least 3 years proven track record business to business sales at a corporate level
  • Has technical skills required to understand and promote product or solution by focusing on client requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide, and of the company’s competitors
  • Able to cold call potential clients with confidence
  • Skillful in negotiating and closing deals with clients/negotiation
  • Leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in customer support is a plus
  • Operate Microsoft office and associated programs
  • LTO Drivers License
  • Willing to travel is required for this position
